WHAT , WHY , WHO

As Paul Erdos once said,

“Why are numbers beautiful? It’s like asking why is Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony beautiful. If you don’t see why, someone can’t tell you. I know numbers are beautiful. If they aren’t beautiful, nothing is.”
It is from this quote that we draw our inspiration, as we truly wish to share the beauty and elegance of mathematics.

WHO WE ARE
The original founding team of YISMXPLUSC met in the Further Mathematics classroom, working extremely hard to prove theorems from fundamental axioms. Henceforth, all additional writers will be persons with equal (if not greater) love of mathematics who wish to input their knowledge on some matter.

Our Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to provide an accessible mathematics resource for students of all levels. We wish to help students understand the underlying principles and formation of the incredible formulas used in high school mathematics and how they came to be . As we grow, we hope to be able to provide resources to undergraduate and graduate level students. Some of the topics that will surely be covered include:
  1. Algebra
  2. Trigonometry
  3. Number Theory
  4. Calculus
  5. Linear Algebra
  6. Arithematics
  7. Logic
It should be noted that the topics will most likely not be ordered for one to learn an area using this resource, but rather to expand their existing knowledge. For example, if a student who has just finished a lecture on the Linear Transformation, wishes to gain an intuitive understanding, they may go to the Linear Algebra category to do precisely this.

At the end of each post, the original author will initial the post. Once the article has been reviewed by another author, he/she will add initials in parentheses, as to help guarantee the accuracy of the above post.
That’s all for now,
YISMXPLUSC TEAM
